Norma Jean Plunkett, 71, of Sioux City died Wednesday, January 26, 2000, at her residence following a brief illness.

Private memorial services will be at a later date, with the Rev. David Fechner of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Plunkett was born May 12, 1928 in Winnebago, Nebraska, the daughter of Wilber and Victoria (Price) Lucart. She attended Winnebago High School.

She married Warren M. Plunkett on April 3, 1945, in Sioux City. She was employed as a hostess with Flamingo Inn, Best Western and Dean Drug. She retired in 1996.

Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Robert and Karolyn of South Sioux City; three daughters and their husbands, Mary Ann and Bary Betsworth of Sioux City, Anita and Gary Golden of Lake Forest, California, and Jean and Terry Jensen of Duluth, Minnesota, a brother, Leslie Lucart of Roswell, N.M., four sisters, Mary Byrne and Pat Lucart, both of Sioux City, Sharon Gubelman of Jackson, Nebraska and Jackie Newman of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
