27 March 1998Grace Lien, 89, of Sioux City died Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at the Indian hills Nursing and Convalescent Center.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery. Nelson-Berger- Morningside Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Lien was born June 1, 1908 in Wynot, Nebraska, the daughter of J. Albert and Sadie Anderson. She graduated from Florence Nightingale High School in Hartington, Nebraska.
She married Theodore Lien on June 6, 1932 in Worthing, S.D. The couple farmed near Inwood, Iowa until moving to Sioux City in 1950. She was employed as a nurse’s aide in obstetric nursery with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital until retiring in 1973. He died in 1985.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Scandinavian Society.
Survivors include two sons, Gary and his wife Karen of Sioux City and Douglas of Tumwater, Washington; three grandsons, Todd and Kirk Lien and Michael Padomek and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Constance Padomek, four brothers and two sisters.
