SIOUX CITY | Randall "Randy" Bruce Stowers, 65, of St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, at his home with his family by his side.

A memorial celebration of Randy's life will be held 6 p.m. today at Evolution United Methodist Church, 202 West Hyde Park, St. Joseph, Mo. He will be cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Rupp Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Online condolence and obituary at www.ruppfuneral.com.

Randy was born Dec. 6, 1951, in Sioux City, the son of Jeanette and Donald Stowers. He graduated from East High School in Sioux City, and attended one year of college.

He married Gayle on May 17, 1997. Randy worked as a manager with National Beef Leathers in St. Joseph, Mo.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all sports, and was an avid daily weight lifter. He was a member of the Evolution United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle Stowers of the home; his mother, Jeanette Stowers of Sioux City; a daughter, Abby Jo (Jeffrey) Brown of Fort Worth, Texas; sons, Ryan Beach of Caledonia, Ill., and Devin Beach of Baltimore, Md.; granddaughters, Harper, Kendall, Kenzie and Larkyn; a brother, Ron (Mary Jean) Stowers; a sister, Lori (Greg) Tichenor; his black lab, Tess; and cat, Amber.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Donald Stowers.
