Salix, Iowa—Mike J. Kobold, 66, of Salix died Monday, October 14, 1996, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christy Smith & Hockenberry Morningside Chapel with the Rev. Martha Anderson of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Kobold was born May 11, 1930, in Sioux City. He attended Sergeant Bluff School.

On May 23, 1964, he married Betty Hoxie in South Sioux City.

He was a lifelong farmer in the Sergeant Bluff and Salix areas.

Mr. Kobold was a Methodist. He served four years in the Army and five years in the Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Brad of Sergeant Bluff; two step-sons, Jerry and Leon of Sioux City; his mother, Louise E. Mann of Sergeant Bluff; a half brother, Larry Kobold, a half sister, Barbara Kobold; a grandson, Joshua; five step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael.

Pallbearers will be Payne Sargisson, Dale Eye, Mark Godfredson, Richard Folson Sr., Richard Folson Sr., Richard Folson Jr. and Jim Camerer.
