SIOUX CITY | Ronald G. Roupe, 78, lifelong resident of Sioux City, died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Lutheran Church, 618 Florence Ave., Sioux City, with the Rev. Tim Squier officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Ronald was born Sept. 27, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Charles A. and Edna Lucille (Kendall) Roupe. He grew up and attended Sioux City Public Schools, graduating from Central High School. He entered the U.S. Navy and was injured shortly thereafter. Upon returning home, he worked for his father's dry cleaning business for a brief time before going to work for American Equipment as a machinist.

Ronald married Connie Mae Hill on July 19, 1963, in South Sioux City. The couple had three children, Kim, LeAnn and Mickey, and made Sioux City their home. Ronald retired in 2004 from American Equipment as the plant manager after 44 years of employment.

His hobbies included watching his grandchildren's sporting events, playing cards and tinkering around in the garage. Ron was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. He loved to talk about them with anyone who would listen. Ron loved working on motorcycles and old cars and trucks. He had a 1953 Triumph motorcycle and a 1951 GMC pickup that he restored. Ronald loved to go to car shows with his friends.

He was a member of Riverside Lutheran Church.

Surviving are daughters, Kim Sands, Mickey and Kem Juracek and LeAnn Graves, all of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Sara Anderson, Ryan Sands, Dustin Ouellette, Holly Curry, Ali Ouellette, Tori Graves and Tighe Graves; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger and Sherry Roupe of Sioux City; foster daughter, Lisa Rath of Maryland; and a son, Tony Weher of Norfolk, Neb., from his first marriage.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; son-in-law, Greg Sands; and his brother, Richard E. Roupe.
