Bill found his calling in teaching at the SMEF Family Residency program, receiving the Faculty of the Year Award five times. He served on multiple medical committees during his career and was medical director for several years at the Lincoln clinic.

Bill treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Each experience afforded him another episode to add to his repertoire of humorous stories.
