SIOUX CITY | Kimberly K. Fritz, 57, of Sioux City, formerly of Vermillion, S.D., lost her courageous battle with cancer Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Touchstone Living Center Hospice Unit in Sioux City, with her family by her side.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kober Funeral Home in Vermillion, with the Rev. Elmer "Sandy" Aakre officiating. Visitation with family will be 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be posted online at www.koberfuneralhome.com.

Kimberly was born in Yankton, S.D., to Vivian Mae (Anderson) and Frank Krisl on April 23, 1959. She grew up in and around the Vermillion area and then moved to South Sioux City with her family during her teenage years.

She was united in marriage to Mike Fritz Sr. on Dec. 21, 1976. Kimberly primarily worked in the child care industry for her mother-in-law, Joyce, and then operated an in-home daycare for many years in the Sioux City area.

She loved nothing more than to spend time with her family. They were her heart and soul. She loved baking, fishing, camping, grilling out, and having all of her family together on holidays. She had a heart of gold and made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Survivors include her children, Michelle (Chris) Gillaspie of Hornick, Iowa, and Billie (LeRoy) Fritz and Michael (Stacey) Fritz, all of Sioux City; her beloved grandchildren, Kody (Shay) Gillaspie, Katrina (Tanner) Bakke, Christopher Gillaspie, Brody Fritz, Jersey Fritz, Kuper Fritz, Blake Courtney, Jaedyn Courtney, and Bricelyn Courtney; her great-grandchildren, Landon, Trinitee, Jaelynn, and Ayla; her brothers, Steve (Mary) Anderson, Randy (Kris) Krisl, Tom (Karen) Krisl, and Bill (Kim) Nielsen; and her sisters, Sis (Doug) Whipple, Karen (Tom) DeRoos, and Kathy (Terry) Cadwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and Frank Krisl; her stepfather, Jack Nielsen; brothers, Rick "Slim" and Alan; and her stepsister, Linda.
