SIOUX CITY | Mervin J. "Mickey" Hobbs, 65, of Dexter, Mich., formerly of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016.

Visitation with family present will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 14 at Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Stevens of Kingsley United Methodist Church officiating. Condolences may be left at www.rohdefh.com.

Mervin "Mickey" James Hobbs was born Aug. 2, 1951, in Sioux City, the son of Mervin and Patricia (Heacock) Hobbs. Mickey graduated in 1969 from Sioux City East High School. He graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City.

Survivors include his sister, Lisa (Robert) Brewer of Ida Grove, Iowa; sister-in-law, Rosemary Rochford of Colorado; aunt, Phyllis Heacock of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin and Patricia Hobbs; two brothers, Monte and Mark Hobbs; grandparents, E.V. and Edina Heacock, and Wilma and Jean Hobbs; and an uncle, Jim Heacock.
