SERGEANT BLUFF | Diana L. Semon, 65, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Mayo Clinic, after a courageous fight with lung disease.

A celebration of life will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a service at 7 p.m., at the Sergeant Bluff Community Center American Legion Hall, 901 Topaz Drive. Friends are invited to attend and celebrate Diana's life as they knew her. Arrangements are with Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Diana was born June 7, 1951, in Kansas City, Kan., to James and Lita Ennes.

She met her husband, Roy, in 1968. They married Dec. 6, 1968. In 1970, they moved to Sergeant Bluff so Roy could help build the Port Neal power plants. They loved this area so much they never left.

She raised two beautiful daughters, Shelley and Shauna. Unfortunately in August 2007, Shelley was taken by the Lord, leaving behind a husband, Mike Pape, and two spectacular grandsons, Nolan Pape and Bryce Pape. Diana was an essential part of helping these boys become men. Shauna has two wonderful children, Collin and Cayden. They were the gleam in grandma's eye. Diana loved to spend time with her grandkids and being part of everything they did.

Diana loved to play cards, from bridge to poker, getting her nails done and spending time with her husband, Roy. She and Roy took many trips to various places, including Switzerland, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Mexico, Hawaii and countless other places. She enjoyed her special trips with Shelley Lessard, Penny Foreman and Sandy Baker.

Survivors include her loving husband, Roy; a daughter, Shauna (Jason) Frost; four grandchildren, Nolan and Bryce Pape and Collin and Cayden Martin; two sisters, Becky (Ed) Fratzel and Linda Garcia; a brother, Randy Ennes; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Anne) Semon and John (Denise) Semon; and three sons-in-law, Mike Pape, Craig Martin and Jason Frost.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley Pape; her parents; and a brother, David Ennes.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Semon Family College Fund.
