SERGEANT BLUFF | Scott E. Carter, 55, of Sergeant Bluff, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at home.

A gathering to honor Scott's life will be 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Eddie's Bar in Sergeant Bluff. Arrangements are with Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Scott was born Dec. 14, 1961, in Sioux City, the son of Gary and Phyllis (Collingwood) Carter. He graduated in 1980 from Sergeant Bluff High School.

After graduation, he began his 30-year career constructing communication towers. He began at Horizon Wireless of St. Louis, Mo. Since 2013, he had been working at Ag Processing (AGP) in Sergeant Bluff.

In 2010, Scott married Vicki Beckers in Fort Worth, Texas. While in Fort Worth, Scott was involved in building the Nite Song Tower in Fort Worth, and received an award for his efforts.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki; his daughters, Kailey Carter and Shelby Carter; grandchildren, Chase and Brooklyn; mother, Phyllis Carter (Nancy Carter); brother, Matt (Chrissy) Carter; and sister, Belinda (Brian) Pollock.

The family requests no flowers.
