SLOAN, Iowa | Dr. Burnett George Firstenberger, 99, of Evanston, Ill., formerly of Sloan, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017.

Private services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Donnellan Family Funeral Service in Skokie, Ill. Condolences may be sent online to www.donnellanfuneral.com.

Dr. Firstenberger was born on July 18, 1917 in Seneca, Kan.

He was the beloved husband of the late, Eleanor (Lee); loving father of Ellen, Burnett "Bud" (Kate) and the late Nancy (Chris) Flynn; proud grandfather of Kerry (Neil) Firstenleit, Colleen (Joshua) Jones, Amy (Kevin) Martin, Eileen (Will) Krummel, Andrew (Kara), Rebecca and Peter Flynn; and great-grandfather of Theodore, Jacob, Connor, Molly, Trevor, Evan, Heath, and Dylan.
