Jefferson, S.D.- Adam Earl Ballinger, 35, of rural Jefferson died Friday March 13, 1998, at his residence after a short illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Elk Point United Parish Church in Elk Point, S.D. with the Rev. Fred C. Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the church. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ballinger was born on January 14, 1963 in Sioux City, the son of Richard and Dora Ballinger. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, S.D. and attended South Dakota State University for one year. He farmed with his father and brother for many years and worked at Dakota Mechanical for several years. He married Ellen M. Tope on October 10, 1997, in Elk Point.

Survivors include his wife; his parents; three stepsons, Chad, Justin and Taylor; a brother, Rodney and his wife, Joni of rural Jefferson; three sisters, Carol Ann Searls of Sioux City, Dr. Beth Ann Ballinger of Iowa City and Jane Ann and her husband, Matthew Rozell of Green Bay, Wis., three nieces and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl.

Pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Harry O’Connor, Jim Smith, Mike Dailey, Rodney Ballinger and Glen McDonald.
