SIOUX CITY | Gayle A. Zeman, 79, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at a local hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Gayle was born on March 19, 1937, in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Leo and Rose (Peltz) Oster. On April 23, 1956, she was united in marriage to Donald V. Zeman in Windsor, Conn. They made their home in Sioux City following Don's discharge from the U.S. Air Force in 1965.

Gayle was a member of the Strollers Car Club and was involved with the Sioux City Center for Active Generations for many years. She also enjoyed going line dancing.

Survivors include her four sons, Donald (Rebecca) Zeman of Norfolk, Neb., and John (Cindy) Zeman, William Zeman and Tom (Melissa) Zeman, all of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Raymond Oster of Fresno, Calif., and Allen Oster of Sioux City.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Don.
