Margery E. Reed, 81, of Sioux City after a lifetime of struggling with her physical limitations went peacefully to her Lord Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Riverside United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. She donated her body to the University of South Dakota. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel.

Marge was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Storm Lake, Iowa area to Mona and Luther Reed. She attended public schools in Storm Lake and Glenwood, Iowa.

She lived with her mother, but over the years was able to be a caregiver and baby-sitter for family and friends.

She attended Riverside United Methodist Church and was active in the Ladies Aid, knitting numerous items for bazaars and as gifts for family and friends. Her greatest pleasure in life was giving to others. She never forgot a birthday or special event of family members, including her extended family the Montagne and Kittler families.

She is survived by a sister, Jean Loomis of Arnolds Park, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Gloria Reed of Scottsdale, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews and their families; and her "special" caregivers, Carolyn and Dana Montagne.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Mona and Max Buhman; a brother, Robert Reed; a sister, Beverly Montagne; a brother-in-law, Vince Loomis; and her beloved dog, Penny.

Memorials may be directed to Riverside United Methodist Church or Hospice of Siouxland.
