William C. "Bill" Tozier, of Foley, Ala., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, in Foley, where he had lived since 1993.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rejoice Community Church, 1320 Third Avenue S.E., in Le Mars. The body was cremated and burial was in Foley.

Mr. Tozier was born July 13, 1929, to Maxine (Gray) and Charles Tozier, in Sioux City. He graduated from Leeds High School, where he was active in football, basketball and track. He also attended Morningside College.

He married Beverly Johnson on Aug. 2, 1952, in Sioux City. Three children were born to this union, a son, Kevin of Elon, N.C., Lexann Hop of Le Mars, Iowa, and Stacey Smith of Sioux City.

In 1949, he began working at Iowa Public Service (now MidAmerican Energy) in the service building office and later at the substation department. In 1968, he was moved to the engineering department at the main office in downtown Sioux City, where he worked until retiring in 1986. After his retirement, he and his wife spent winters in Texas, South Carolina and Gulf Shore, Ala. They were divorced in 1993.

In 1996, he married Lyubova Dimitrievna Bereskum of Russia. They lived in Foley, Ala.

He served as president of the Siouxland Amateur Radio Club and the Siouxland Antique Car Club. He was active in the Sioux City Country Music Association and the Sioux City Carving Club.

Survivors include his wife, Lyubova; his three children, Kevin (Carol) Tozier of North Carolina, Lexann (Tim) Hop of Le Mars and Stacey (Bill) Smith of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Allison Tozier of North Carolina and Collin Hop of Le Mars; three stepgrandsons, Randy (Gina) and Matt (Angie) Woolridge of Lexington, Md. and Sioux Falls, S.D.; a step-granddaughter, Christina of Tennessee; three great-step-grandchildren, Alena and Kayla of Maryland and Jacob of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a stepdaughter and her husband and two step-grandchildren in Russia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Charles Tozier; and two sisters, Evonne Williams and Chareline White.
