Martha M. "Marty" Weibel, 91, of Sioux City died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Meinen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at Holy Spirit. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Weibel was born Feb. 27, 1914, in Remsen, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Mayme (Shea) Jander. As a young child, she moved with her parents to Merrill, Iowa, where she attended elementary school. Later, they moved to Sioux City. She completed eighth grade at St. Boniface Grade School and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1933.

She married Louis A. "Tony" Weibel on Feb. 14, 1939, in Sioux City. After her marriage, she was employed in the credit department of the T.S. Martin Department Store for many years. Mr. Weibel died Feb. 14, 1999, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Survivors include a brother, Clarence Jander of Pasa Robles, Calf.; a brother-in-law and his wife, Jerome A. and Gladys Weibel of Worthington, Minn.; 12 nieces; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Tony.
