16 September 2005Michael J. Sarris, 80, of Sioux City died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, with the Rev. George Pappas officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home.
Michael Sarris was born Feb. 3, 1925, in Sioux City, to John and Vasilike (Sakellaris) Sarris. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
Survivors include two sisters and their husbands, Angeline and Charles Irwin of Sioux City and Constance and James Nadermann of Dyersville, Iowa; and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Theodore and his wife, Venetia, Chris and Peter; and two sisters, Peggy Sarris and Mary and her husband, Fred Hooper.
Pallbearers will be Merlin Berkenpas, Charles Irwin, Don Knepper, Jeff Mahrt, Doug DeHaan and Dennis Renes.
A memorial has been established with Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church to be used for special projects to enable accessibility for the handicapped.
