Dolores "Katherine" Miller, 90, of Norman, Okla., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at South Park Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, Okla., following an extended illness

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, South Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dolores Katherine Miller was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Walker Island, Minn., the daughter of Orely and Etta Marie (Keith) Andrew. She lived with her family in Sioux City at a very young age. Katherine, along with her four siblings, were raised in Father Flanagan's Boys and Girls Home in Omaha, Neb. for several years. She later moved to a foster home in Dannebrog, Neb., where she resided until her 18th birthday, at which time she returned to Sioux City to become reacquainted with her parents.

She married George E. Miller in January of 1935 in California. The couple were later divorced. Katherine, also known as "Granny" and "Aunt Kate" worked at Sioux City Battery and also Cudahy's Packing Company at one time. Later she was a nurses' aide at St. Vincent Hospital. For the past several years, Katherine lived in Norman with her great-granddaughter, Anasara Henry. She loved to travel.

Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn N. Miller of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; four grandchildren, George E. Robinson of Walthill, Neb., Michael P. Robinson and Shelley M. Hufford both of South Dakota and Lynn D. Phillips of Norman; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a half-brother Kenneth Jones of Ponca, Neb., a half-sister Leatha Snell of Winchester, Tenn., and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonja Kathleen Miller; a great-grandson Zander Henry; five brothers and sisters and five half-brothers and sisters.

Casket bearers will be Christopher Robinson, Rudy Robinson, Andy Robinson, James Roth, Alexander Henry, Antonio Garcia and George E. Robinson.
