SIOUX CITY | Joan Rae Hight, 64, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at her home.

A celebration of life will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Community Center, 205 Sodrak Dr., in North Sioux City, S.D. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Joan was born on Sept. 14, 1952, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Lyle and Darlene (Newman) Jordan. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Hartford, Conn.

Joan was a server/waitress most of her life throughout the area including Cherokee Country Club and Carey's in Cherokee, Iowa, Theo's Steakhouse in Lawton, Iowa, The Glass Palace, and finally retired from Goode To Go in North Sioux City.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crocheting blankets for her grandchildren, crossword puzzles, and most of all fishing.

Survivors include her father, Lyle; four children, Nichole Miller of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Danielle Costanzo of Ankeny, Iowa, Joelle (Roger) Hight of Vermillion, S.D., and Michelle (Jimmy) Lesline of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gary (Lora) Reel of Waterloo, Iowa, Randy Reel of Algona, Iowa, and Jamie Jordan of Council Bluffs; and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene; a sister, Sally Holloway; and a brother, Rick Reel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be greatly appreciated and can be sent to 800 W. Clark St., Vermillion, SD, 57069.
