Bud (Roland P.) Conway, 92, formerly of Evergreen Village, Leeds, died Thursday, July 14, 2005 at Sunrise Retirement Community following a brief illness.

Graveside services with military rites will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Perasso Chapel.

Mr. Conway was born Oct. 16, 1912 in Hawarden, Iowa, and resided in Sioux City since 1945. He was a veteran of World War II having been a sergeant with the First Army, 17th Observation Battalion stationed in Normandy, Belgium and France. He received the Silver Battle Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, and Overseas Service Bars.

He was employed by Sioux Tools (Albertsons) for 37 years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed helping people, loved animals and was an avid football fan.

Survivors include two nephews, Darvis Westre, Urbandale, Iowa, and Bill Peters, Chicago; three nieces, Ramona Johnson, Sioux City, Donna Anagnostou, Livonia, Mich. and Linda Allen, Tulsa, Okla.
