Susan K. Girard, 47, Sioux City, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at home following a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Michael J. Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Susan K. Girard was born June 22, 1958 in Sioux City, the daughter of Joseph A. and Bonnie Jean (Butler) Malcolm. Susan received a kidney transplant from her mother in 1972. She was an avid interior decorator and loved baking cookies and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed being an over the road truck driver and traveling with special friend, Ron Marsh.

Survivors include special friend Ron Marsh; her mother, Bonnie Malcolm, Sioux City; three sisters, Linda D. Bush (William), Moville, Iowa, Sandra A. Abedelmalak and Debbie J. Florke (Donald), both of Sioux City; three brothers, Joseph A. Malcolm Jr. (Bonita), Colorado, James D. Rask, Okoboji, Iowa, and Joseph E. Malcolm (Kathy), Cherokee; and many aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph, and her grandparents.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Craig, John Craig, Bonnie Jo Malcolm, Audra Florke, Michael Florke and Draven Foster.
