Richard L. "Dick" Leach, 51, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at a local hospital.

Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Richard was born on June 6, 1956, in Sioux City, the son of Earl and Iona (Peters) Leach. He attended school in South Sioux City.

Richard was united in marriage to Mary Paronto on Dec. 1, 1981, in Sioux City. He worked for Advance Industries and then later with Overland Armored Express, until he retired in 1993, due to Hodgkin's disease.

Dick enjoyed his parrot, Buddy, fishing and his cars. He was a member of the International Corvette Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, Matthew and his wife, Kelly of Whiting, Iowa, and Jesse Leach of Sioux City; two daughters, Christina Leach and Sarah Leach, both of Sioux City; five grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd Leach of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Clarence "Corky" Leach and his wife, Nancy of Rapid City, S.D.; and a sister, Nancy of South Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
