Charles A. Rave of Sioux City passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at his residence from natural causes.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Ho-Chunk Building in Winnebago, Neb., with Larry Payer officiating. Burial will be in Rave Cemetery, rural Winnebago. Visitation will be prior to the service today at the Ho-Chunk Building.

Charles was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Winnebago. He received his general education diploma while serving in the U.S. Army. He served as a radio man while stationed in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. He attended nursing school in Denver, Colo. in the late 1980s. He worked at various jobs in Omaha and Lincoln, Neb. He was employed as a nurse in Denver in the early 1990s.

Survivors include a son, Chad A. Rave of Sioux City; a grandson, Eldon; sisters, Pat Bellis of Peppie Saul, S.C., Elenor Clayborne of Milwaukee, Wis., and Maureen DeForest of Tacoma, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Roxanne Masquat; his father, Murice Rave; a brother, Eugene S. Rave; and two nephews, Brandon Suarez, 32, and Joseph L. Suarez, 3 and a half.
