SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Elaine Blanche Servine, 81, of South Sioux City, formerly of rural Waterbury, Neb., passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at a South Sioux City care center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jerry Gilbreath officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present at 6 p.m., at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Elaine was born Dec. 16, 1925, in Sioux City, the daughter of Bert M. and Nella B. (Betsworth) Tozier. She married John W. Servine on Sept. 12, 1948, in Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Waterbury, Neb., area for many years.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and going to flea markets.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Thomas K. and Sandy Servine of Waterbury, Neb., and Ronald W. and Vickie Servine of Ponca, Neb.; three daughters, Sharon and her husband, Richard Potter of Ponca, JoAnn Christoffersen of Tilden, Neb., and Beverly and her husband, Clynn Heinrich of Rochester Hills, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, Ryan and Jeff Potter, Ronelle Welch, Andy Servine and his wife, Brandy, Sara, Melissa and Scott Servine, Megan (Christoffersen) and he husband, Travis Mock, Mallory and Marisa Christoffersen, Matthew and Jacob Heinrich; and two great-grandchildren, Chance and Talon Mock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John on Feb. 18, 2005 in Emerson, Neb.; a son, Douglas; a brother, Melvin Tozier; and three sisters, Elleth Warren, Geneva Halweg and Leona Barnhart.

Pallbearers will be Terry Wertz, Kenneth Burcham, Don Binkley, Don Ehlers, Clifford Rasmussen and Gordon Hansen. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
