SIOUX CITY | Jetta Piper, 87, of Decorah, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah.

A celebration of life service will be 3 to 6 p.m. today at Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, in Decorah. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City.

Jetta is survived by her husband, Roy Piper of Decorah; eight children, Bob (Mary) Piper of Bonner Springs, Kan., Denise (Rick) Bryce of Sergeant Bluff, Pat (Doug) Sand of Ridgeway, Iowa,; Kay (Steve) Peterson of Cresco, Iowa, Linda (Chuck) Simeon of Moorhead, Minn., Patty (Jeff) Everett of Clinton, Mo., Tim Piper of Avon, Minn., and Paula Piper of West Union, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Darlene Piper of Randalia, Iowa; 27 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
