SIOUX CITY | Charles G. Estochen Sr., 84, of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at a local hospital.

Services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Waterbury Funeral Service, 4125 Orleans Ave., Sioux City. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles was born April 24, 1932, in McKeesport, Pa., the son of Joseph and Mary (Pagesh) Estochen. He grew up in McKeesport and attended school there. After school he joined the U.S. Air Force in January of 1950, serving in England during the Korean Conflict.

Charles married Mercella Tucker on Dec. 13, 1952, at the Sioux City Air Base Chapel. After his honorable discharge in January of 1954, the couple made their home in Sioux City. Over the years, Charles worked at Aalfs Manufacturing, retiring after 41 years.

He was a member of the American Legion in Hinton, and the Deer Run Golf Course. He was a lifelong Steelers Fan, an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and devoted family man.

Survivors include his wife, Mercella Estochen of Sioux City; three children, Chuck (Darlene) Estochen Jr. of Sioux City, Kara (Sam) Reves of Soldotna, Alaska, and John (Trudi) Estochen of Dakota City; eight grandchildren, Brad Estochen, Renee (David) Lo, Chuck Estochen III, William Reves and fiancee, Desirae, David (Christine) Reves, Cory (Miranda) Estochen, Dustin (Jessica) Estochen and Amber (Adi) Cizmic; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Estochen of Georgia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
