SIOUX CITY | Milton Petty, 75, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at a local hospital surrounded by his family.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with family present after 5:30 p.m., and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Milton Philip, son of Milton Philip and Arlene G. (Blum) Petty, was born Aug. 21, 1940, in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up in Sioux City, and graduated from Heelan High School in 1958.

On Oct. 8, 1960, Milton was united in marriage with Mary Ann Keller at St. Michael Catholic Church. Six children were born to this union. Milton worked in sales, and for most of his career worked with Sioux City Foundry, Tri-State Drywall and Burke Engineering.

Milton was a member of St. Michael parish and for many years was active in the Construction League/Homebuilder’s Association. He enjoyed sharing a story, vacationing to see family and having happy hour on the porch with his neighbors. Milton cherished the time spent with his kids and grandchildren.

Milton is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Petty; five children, Mark Petty and wife, Jenny, Matt Petty and wife, Theresa, Marcia Vazquez and husband, Ruben, Michele Harris and husband, Doug, and Mary Pat Acero; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Julia Kirkegaard and husband, Wayne; and a brother, Robert Petty and wife, Patricia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael.
