SIOUX CITY | Edna Ellen Dohrmann, 102, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, at a local care facility.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Interment will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 10:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Edna was born on May 29, 1914, in Harrison, Neb., the daughter of Lenus and Ruth (Simpson) Larson. She graduated from Chadron (Neb.) High School in 1932. She then attended Nebraska State Normal College in Chadron, receiving a BS degree in home economics. Edna taught fifth grade in Chadron until she was married.

On June 24, 1937, Edna was united in marriage with A.C. "Dick" Dohrmann in Chadron. They lived in Lincoln, Neb., for two years. She then returned to Chadron during the war, and following Dick's discharge the couple moved to Sioux City. Mr. Dohrmann preceded her in death on July 3, 1990.

Edna was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was very active in the children's program and women's groups. She was a past president of the Methodist Hospital Auxiliary and was very active in her PEO Chapter IA sisterhood, where she served numerous offices. Edna also served on the Girl Scout Board and served as a leader for three years and was very active in the Sioux City PTA. Edna loved her flower garden and cherished the time she could spend working with and enjoying her flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Fallon and her husband, Cliff of Hayden, Idaho; her son, Dr. Richard Dohrmann and his wife, Val of Dakota Dunes; six grandchildren, Brad Fallon and Stacy Harris of Atlanta, Ga., Jennifer Latcham and Todd Dohrmann of Waukee, Iowa, Ryan Dohrmann of San Marcos, Calif., and Erin Wall of Cave Creek, Ariz.; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gordon; and her husband, A.C. "Dick" Dohrmann.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Edna's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Siouxland.
