Kaydence Hope Foster, infant daughter of Darin Foster and Lindzy McNaughton of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at Children's Hospital in Omaha.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Riverside Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Kaydence was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. When she was five days old, she had her first surgery to try and repair her heart. After surgery, they were unable to take her off the heart-lung machine, her little heart would not beat on its own. Over the next four days, she had two more surgeries. She fought hard but her tiny heart was tired and she passed away, returning to God's loving arms.

During her nine days on earth, she was surrounded by the love of all her family and friends. She was a beautiful blessing and her parents cherished each moment they got to spend with her.

She is survived by her parents, Lindzy McNaughton and Darin Foster; two half brothers, Trystan and Camyren McNaughton of Sioux City; a half sister, Rylei McNaughton of Sioux City; maternal grandparents, Sandy and Clay Meyer of Onawa, Iowa, and Marvin and Linda Diamond of Sioux City; maternal great-grandparent, Frank Diamond of Anthon, Iowa; an aunt, Desiree Diamond and her children, Ben and Wesley of South Sioux City; and paternal grandparents, Paula Foster and Dan Ruttkey of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Foster, Deloras Foster, Robert and Donna Westphal and Betty Wilma Diamond.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff of Children's Hospital for the gentle kindness, care and support shown towards Kaydence and her family. Also the family would like to thank the members of the 185th Air Refueling Wing of Sioux City and the 55th SFS of Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, for their support.
