Raymond A. Nash, 75, of Sioux City died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Brown of Lakeview Open Bible Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa officiating. Military graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Nash was born Dec.18, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Ray and Osie (Hundley) Nash. He grew up in the Salix, Iowa, area and then joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II.

He married Ardith E. Wilson on Dec. 7, 1946, in Sioux City. He was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for various businesses in Sioux City for many years. He then retired from the Sioux City Journal in 1989.

He was a member of American Legion Monahan Post 64. He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching M*A*S*H and the Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include his wife, Ardith; five children and their spouses, Deborah and Terry Clark of Spirit Lake, Raymond and Lyla Nash of Sioux City, John and Cindy Nash of Sioux City, Don "Red" and Penny Nash of Sioux City and Deanna and Jeff Eshelman of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Laura, Cherri Rae, Beth Ann Rae, John, Kelly and Megan Rae; two great-grandchildren, Reina and Adrian; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Felix, Wally Peterson, David Hair, Todd Tastad, Doug Engel and Tim Wilson.
