William Anton Luke, 82, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jeff Schleisman officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Luke was born Nov. 26, 1919, in Sioux City, the son of Tony and Mary (Shkurensky) Elukewich. He attended Sioux City Public Schools and graduated from Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Georgia Staszewsky on April 25, 1948, in Sioux City. He worked for Luke's TV Center and Luke's Coin-op Dry Cleaners. He was also employed with Albertsons, Dyna Tech and Advanced Industries.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. He enjoyed playing cribbage, fishing, bowling, gardening and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia of Sioux City; two sons, William Michael Luke of Houston, Texas, and Robert Allen Luke of Sioux City; a sister, Alice Thomas of Sioux City; and a grandson, William Alexander Luke of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gus Luke.
