A lifelong resident of Sioux City, Emil B. (Pete”) Kern, 46, of 3214 Dace Avenue, truck operator, died Friday night in a hospital after a brief illness.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Surviving are the widow, Margaret; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar Peterson, Nona and Jo Ann Kern; two sons, Robert and Arthur; one grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Schillinger, Mrs. Carl Stoltze and Mrs. Herman Plahn; his mother, Mrs. Marie Kern and two brothers, John and Walter, all of Sioux City.

The body is at Nelson-Berger Funeral Home.
