Robert E. Mohr, 90, of Cushing, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at his home in Cushing.

Robert was born on November 9, 1925, to Albert and Rena (Anfinson) Mohr. During his youth and first two years of marriage, he lived on the Mohr family farm north of Holstein. He was united in marriage on December 27, 1944, to Hazel Raymer. They moved to a farm south of Cushing in 1947 where they farmed and raised their family, then moved to Cushing in 1994.

Robert had a personal relationship with the Lord and was an avid reader of the scriptures. He was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed participating in choir, being Sunday School Superintendent, and serving on the church council. He loved his faith and shared that love with many.

Robert had an amazing memory and shared many stories with his family and friends. He enjoyed music and spent many hours listening to music, and singing with his family through the years. Bob and Hazel loved dancing and attended many local dances together. Often you could find them dancing in their own living room.

After the death of his wife, Robert taught himself to cook. He approached this task with great enthusiasm and ingenuity, trying many new recipes and combinations to create unique dishes. He loved to talk about his creations and would often urge family members to taste and enjoy them.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Pamela Morgan and husband Douglas of Lawrence, Kansas; Robert R. Mohr and wife Sue of Correctionville, Iowa; Gary Mohr and wife Kathy Jo of Holstein, Iowa; daughter-in-law Kathy Mohr of Charter Oak, Iowa; daughter-in-law Nancy Mohr of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; 15 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Howard Raymer of Downey, California, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Mohr, parents Rena and Albert Mohr, brother Wendell Mohr, and sons Mitchell and Michael Mohr
