SIOUX CITY | Dorothy Margaret Pearson, 90, of Encinitas, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, in San Diego, Calif.

At her request, graveside services will be at her parents' gravesites at noon Sunday in Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Friends are invited.

Dorothy M. Pearson was born April 2, 1926, in Sioux City, the daughter of Margaret and Joseph Ahmann. She graduated from Sioux City Central High School. She attended the University of Iowa and Arizona State University.

She married Robert "Bob" Pearson in 1946 in Sioux City. In 1954, Dorothy and Bob moved to Le Mars, Iowa, with their sons, Bob "Speedy" and John. They lived there until 1976, when she joined her husband in Denver, Colo.

Dorothy loved sports. She enjoyed watching basketball and football. In her earlier years, Dorothy liked playing golf, tennis and bowling. She enjoyed jazz and attended several jazz concerts in recent years. Her latest great enjoyments were the visits from her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include her children, Bob "Speedy" of Blakesburg, Iowa, and John of San Diego; four grandchildren, Robert "Bo," Sarah, John and Aaron; and seven great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Rebecca, Lauren, Lexi, Elle, Marko and Isaac.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Robert "Bob" in 1993; and her siblings, Edward and Mildred
