SIOUX CITY | George T. Beeson, 86, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. The Rev. Miguel Ybarra will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

George was born June 14, 1930, in Sioux City. He was the son of John G. and Amelia (Siebert) Beeson. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1948, and then served with the U.S. Navy.

On Nov. 22, 1951, he married Margaret Foerster at Blessed Sacrament Church in Sioux City. Together they raised four children.

George was a livestock commission man and livestock buyer at the Sioux City Stockyards from 1950 until his recent illness.

He was a member of Morningside Assembly of God and loved his career and family.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; four children, Thomas and Patricia Beeson of Miles City, Mont., Debbie Arickx of Wayne, Neb., David and Josie Beeson of Cottage Grove, Minn., and Scott and Becky Beeson of Taos, N.M.; five grandchildren, Laura, Emily (Will), Joseph, Corissa and David; and a great-granddaughter, Ellen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; two sisters; and a son-in-law, Chuck Arickx.

We would like to extend our thanks to the staff of Bickford for their loving care of George. Also, to the Hospice caregivers who watched over George from February to September. Your support was extraordinary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Hospice of Siouxland.
