George A. "Tony" DeWall 1963 - 2016

SIOUX CITY | George A. "Tony" DeWall, 53, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Morningside Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Tony was born March 18, 1963, in Sioux City, the son of John and Jacky (Peters) DeWall. He attended Sioux City Community Schools, and graduated in 1981 from Sioux City North High School.

Tony married Laura Wilson on Feb. 11, 1983, in Sioux City.

Tony was employed at Interbake Foods in the sanitation department. He was a member of Bakers Union No. 433.

Tony loved fishing, taking care of his lawn, cooking BBQ, and spending time with his friends and family, most of all his grandchildren. Tony was a huge Minnesota Vikings fan.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; son, Nathan DeWall of Sioux City; daughter, Stephanie DeWall of Sioux City; parents, John and Jacky DeWall of Sioux City; three sisters, Jerri (Peter Mills) Daugherty, Jill (Edwin) Smith and Jenny (Edy) Hernandez, all of Sioux City; mother-in-law, Mary Wilson; brother-in- law, Bradley Wilson of Sioux City; sister-in-law, Melissa Mansfield of Van Meter, Iowa; four grandchildren, Sierrah, Dominic, Mariah and Aliyah DeWall; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law, Larry Wilson; and cousins
