SIOUX CITY | Amy Jayn Bomgaars, beautiful red-haired daughter of Jane and Roger Bomgaars, arrived home to be with her personal savior our Lord Jesus the Christ on Saturday morning, Oct. 8, 2016, in West Palm Beach, Fla., at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church in Morningside. Private graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd., in Sioux City.

Amy Jayn was born on March 8, 1982, at St Luke's Hospital in Sioux City. She attended St Paul's Lutheran School, Hoover Middle and West High School, graduating with honors. She was very active in concert band, jazz and served as drum major in marching band. Amy played flute, french horn and piano. She participated in choir including small groups and madrigal. Subsequently, she attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., graduating cum laude with degrees in theater arts and elementary education. Amy moved from Dakota Dunes to coastal Florida, living in Delray Beach and West Palm Beach.

Recently her health was challenged by Scleraderma and complications of pneumonia. Hurricane evacuations and forced hospital closures led to Amy succumbing to endocarditis.

Amy Jayn cared deeply about disadvantaged animals which led to her looking after nine needy dogs over the years. Amy loved to be with children and during high school taught children's classes at Lamb Theater.

On June 27, 2014, Amy Jayn married Joseph Fleet in a lovely outdoor ceremony in Seven Springs, Pa., and enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon in Spain. Amy's husband, Joe, had worked in the wealth management profession with Merrill Lynch. They were in the process of establishing their own private financial assistance firm when Amy's health took a turn for the worse.

Amy Jayn and her husband, Joe, attended Christ Fellowship Church and spent every evening reading the Bible together. She had a strong faith and we're confident she is in God's loving care.

Amy Jayn is survived by her husband, Joe; her parents, Jane and Roger; her brother, Aaron and his wife, Amy Gwen; nephews, Charlie and Jack, whom she adored, of Dakota Dunes; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Siouxland Humane Society, 1015 Tri View Ave., Sioux City, IA 51103 or St Paul's Lutheran School, 614 Jennings St., Sioux City, IA 51101.
