DAKOTA DUNES | Warren Lee Tullis, 75, of Dakota Dunes, formerly of South Sioux City, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at home with Bev, his beloved wife of 33 years by his side.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Warren was born on April 16, 1941, in Sioux City, the son of Wilbur and Lucille (Warren) Tullis. He graduated from Central High School in May 1959. After graduation, he worked for McKesson Robbins for 17 years. He then became an entrepreneur and opened a successful pizza business in South Sioux City. Warren also worked for Gateway in security for several years, retiring in 2007. Warren also served his country as a member of the Army National Guard of Iowa for 10 years. He was also a volunteer fireman for South Sioux City Fire Department.

Warren always said he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Burns, in 1983. They lived in Florida for eight years before returning to South Sioux City in 1992.

Warren was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Sioux City and served on various committees over the years. Warren was a loving, compassionate man with a sense of humor like no other. He will be so missed by his family and friends.

Warren is survived by his wife, Bev; his son, Brad Tullis and wife, Tara; his daughter, Angie Wilwerding and her husband, Don; stepson, Darrin Burns and his wife, DeeDee; stepdaughter, Sally Banks and her husband, Kevin; his sister, Marilyn Dickinson and her husband, Bill; his niece, Jana Dickinson; his nephew, Tod Dickinson; 11 grandchildren, Caitlin, Chase, Casy, Ciara and Carter Tullis, Tyler and Ashley Wilwerding, Nick and Lacy Pryor, and Jennifer and Zac Burns; and five great-grandchildren, Gunner, Gabbie, Gannon and Griffin Pryor, and Avila Clark.

The family would like to thank all of you who kept Warren and his family in your prayers. We would also like to extend our thanks to the hospice caregivers for their loving care of Warren and their extraordinary support to the family. God bless you all.
