Jules Alfred Blondell, 86, 2312 S. Palmetto Street, retired real estate broker, died Tuesday at his home after a long illness.

Mr. Blondell was born May 10, 1861, at Natchatell, Switzerland. He came to the United States and Spencer, Iowa at the age of 21. About two years later, in 1884, he came to Sioux City. He established a real estate business which he operated for many years.

He married Emma Conniff, who was a teacher in the Sioux City schools, about 58 years ago. They resided at 2601 Jackson Street for nearly 40 years before moving to the Morningside address. He was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Survivors are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. A.H. Kundee of Kansas City, Missouri and two grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Anderson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Jules A. Blondell, 86, 2312 S. Palmetto Street, a retired real estate broker who died Tuesday, were held at 2 p.m. today at Anderson’s Funeral Home. Burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joseph King, Lawrence Davidson, Ben Schulein, J.E. Thayer, David F. Loepp and George Perkins.
