Boy Struck By Streetcar Dies

Ronald Robinson Accident Victim; Another Youth Hurt

Injuries suffered when he was struck by a streetcar Tuesday afternoon resulted in the death Wednesday of Ronald Robinson, 6-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robinson, 1108 Seventh Street.

The boy suffered injuries which required the amputation of his right leg above the knee. He was taken to a hospital in the police ambulance where doctors removed the leg but he died without regaining consciousness. Police said he ran into the path of the street-car near Eighth and Court Streets.

Car Traveling North

Police said the street-car was traveling north on Court Street. The boy was dragged about 45 feet, officers said, before Edwin Eilers, 27, 1914 S. Cypress Street, the motorman, could stop the car, it had just started after discharging passengers.

The lad was born in Sioux City July 14, 1940. He was a senior first grade pupil at Irving School. He first attended the Grant School. He also attended Central Baptist Sunday School.

Survivors include the parents, a brother, Charles, Jr. a sister, Peggy Jane and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nellie Barber and Charles Robinson, all of Sioux City.

The body was taken to the Rutledge mortuary.
