Norah E. Goebel, 86, Sioux City, died Wednesday in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Michael’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Jerome P. Cosgrove will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today with a rosary service at 8 p.m. in Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mrs. Goebel, the former Norah Elizabeth O’Connell, was born in Omaha. She married Dr. Clarence J. Goebel June 24, 1929, in Omaha. She was employed as an accountant for the Baselin Tobacco Co. in Omaha for several years and was business manager for her husband’s medical practice in Sioux City for many years. Mr. Goebel died August 21, 1983, in Sioux City.

Mrs. Goebel was a member of the Woodbury County Medical Society Auxiliary and St. Michael’s Catholic Church and the Carmel Guild. She was a former member of St. Vincent’s Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, John W. of Lincoln, Nebr., and James J. of Sioux City, a daughter, Patricia C. of Omaha; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
