Prof. W.G. Gary Dead

Although it was pretty well known that Mr. Gary could not recover yet it was hoped he might live. After a lingering illness of several months he passed away last Thursday in Denison, where he had been living during his severe sickness. Tuberculosis, of which it is claimed he died, was no doubt brought on by too much exertion combined with exposure, he being of a very ambitious nature and was constantly employed.

Prof. Gary was the principal of the Hornick public schools last year and was re-elected for this fall, but he resigned when first taken sick. The school had made excellent progress under his supervision and parents and scholars alike held him in very high esteem.
