SIOUX CITY | Roy Smith Jr., 70, of Shepherdsville, Ky., formerly of Sioux City, passed away from cancer Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in Louisville, Ky.

Services were held on May 21 in Shepherdsville.

Roy was born on April 25, 1946, in Sioux City. He went to Sioux City schools and then joined the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his four children, Angel, Roy, Doug and Tammy, all of Kentucky; his sister, Lillie (Glenn) Parrett of Sioux City; and his brother, Melvin Smith of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Reida; his parents, Roy and Vera Smith; and brothers, Bernard and Allen
