Memorial services were held July 14, 2000, for Catherine M. King, 66, of Sioux City at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City. Burial of the cremains was in Piero Bethel Cemetery, rural Oto.

Mrs. King died July 10, 2000, at her home. She was born February 13, 1934, in Anthon, the daughter of Jens and Viva (Parker) Ketelsen. She attended school in Anthon and graduated from the Anthon High School. She attended Merciden School of Practical Nursing in Marshalltown, where she received her practical nursing license. She moved to Sioux City in 1958. She married Charles King May 28, 1960, in Papillion, Nebraska. She was employed as a practical nurse with St. Luke's Hospital from 1958 to 1993. Her husband died September 17, 1991, in Sioux City.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a Bible School volunteer.

Survivors include four sons, Brent Duane of Pearl City, Hawaii, Shawn Richard, Mary Lou, Nathan Charles, and Barry Allen, all of Sioux City; a daughter, Randi Ranee Ruttkay of Sioux City; three brothers, Mike and his wife, Elaine Ketelsen of Lawton, Chris J. and his wife, Mary Ketelsen and Hans Ketelsen, all of Anthon; three sisters-in-law, Geraldine Schrader of Battle Creek, Darlene Dirks of Tama and Barbara King of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
