Ruth H. Eveleth, daughter of Rex H. and Ruth (Willoughby) Hatfield, was born April 16, 1928 at Nashville, TN. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Brookdale Park Place in Tigard, OR at the age of 87.

Ruth grew up and attended school in Sioux City. Following high school, she attended college in Columbia, MO where she received her Bachelor’s in Education.

Ruth married Robert Palmquist and to this union two sons and one daughter was born. They made their home in Washington State until they divorced. Ruth moved back to Sioux City and started teaching first grade for the Sioux City Public Schools. She continued teaching until her retirement.

Ruth was united in marriage to Ed Eveleth on December 18, 1971, in Sioux City. They made their home in Sioux City until moving to the farm south of Salix. Ed preceded Ruth in death on November 30, 2005.

Ruth enjoyed knitting, bell choir, reading and bird watching. She was a member of Morningside Assembly of God.

She is survived by 2 sons: Steve Palmquist and wife Mary of Portland, OR and David Palmquist and wife Donna of Orlando, FL; 3 stepchildren: Ken Eveleth of Salix, IA, Jean Loshey and husband Randy of Wyola, MT and Sherry Koeppler of Thompson Falls, MT; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; and three brothers: Bob, Don and Jack Hatfield.
