Joseph G. Lussier 1910 - 1986

Joseph G. Lussier, 76, Salix, Iowa, died April 7, 1986, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

He was born March 14, 1910, in Bristol, Conn., to Arthur and Malvina (Paquette) Lussier, and came to Salix as a young boy. On December 14, 1933, he married Daisy M. Cain in Sioux City. He farmed in the Salix area until 1946 when he retired because of poor health. Mrs. Lussier died December 27, 1985, in Sioux City.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix.

Survivors include; two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Dorothy) Lamoureux of Salix, and Mrs. Wayne (Joanne) Preul of Moville, Iowa; one brother, Albert of North Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Alice) Kimmer of Clinton and Mrs. Wayne (Rose) Rush of Salix; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers and one sister.

A Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 9, 1986, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Mass Celebrant Reverend Father Raymond P. Wieling. Ann Fowler Johnston, the organist, played the Mass for the Deceased.

Bearers were Eugene Rush, Roland Goodwin, Robert Lamoureux, Lowell Lamoureux, Elliott Rush and Larry Lamoureux.

Interment was in the Sloan Cemetery with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home, Sloan, Iowa.
