Former Resident Dies At Clinton, Iowa

Miss Emma Watson, a former resident of Correctionville, and a niece of Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Watson, died February 10, 1913, at Clinton, Iowa. Miss Watson was born in Correctionville and spent her early life here.

Of her death the Lynch, Nebr., Journal said in part:

Emma J. Watson, second daughter of William A. and Jane A. Watson was born at Correctionville, Iowa, April 19th 1873, died at Clinton, Iowa, February 10th 1913 of chronic interstitial, age 39 years, 9 months, 21 days.

Miss Emma spent her early life in Correctionville. When 11 years old the family moved to Texas and a few months later moved to Kansas, locating at Rush Center where the father died in 1889. In 1891 the mother moved to Nebraska, locating on a homestead near Niobrara. Here Miss Emma cheerfully assumed her full share of the added burdens of the fatherless home and with them bravely met the hardships of pioneer life. In 1902 she came to Lynch entering the millinery business which she successfully conducted until the time of her death.

She is survived by her mother Mrs. Jane A. Watson, of Lynch. Two sisters; Mrs. J..J. Reeve, of Jacksonville, Ill., and Mrs. C.E. Orr, of Lynch. And by five brothers; Charley Watson of Niobrara, Nebraska, W.M. Watson of Wanatchee, Wash., Sarda Watson of Gordon, George Watson of Andrews, Nebr., Burton Watson of Missoula, Mont., and Victor H. Watson of Huron, S.D.
