SIOUX CITY | Drusilla L. (DeVall) Butler, 87, of Sioux City died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave., with the Rev. Ray Adams officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Drusilla was born on April 7, 1929, in Luverne, Minn., the daughter of Edward and Bessie (Carlton) Bode.

Drusilla was married to George DeVall on July 4, 1955. They were divorced in 1973. On Feb. 16, 1979, she was married to Don Butler and resided in the Ozarks. He died in 1992. Following his death, she returned to Sioux City.

During Drusilla's youth, she volunteered at the Mary J. Treglia Community House and as a Girl Scout leader. In her earlier years, she worked as the candy lady in the candy department at the Younker's store downtown. She also worked several years in the custodial department at the YMCA, J.C. Penney, The Holiday Inn and KCAU9. More recently, she was a volunteer at the Gospel Mission's Women's Shelter.

Drusilla enjoyed sewing and making Barbie doll clothing. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and also enjoyed collecting cookbooks. She was devoted to her family and friends, deeply enjoying the time spent with them. Drusilla was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Leeds.

Drusilla is survived by two sons, John (Kim) DeVall of Sioux City and Ben (Lora) DeVall of Sergeant Bluff; two daughters, Joyce (Albert) Sherrill and Zoe DeVall-Curry, both of Sioux City; one brother, Calvin Shanks, of Sioux City; one sister, Juanita Konegni, of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren, Sally (Daniel) Menke, Michael (Jane) Thompson, Matt Thompson, Sherry Thompson, David DeVall, Jeremy (Jessie) DeVall, Josh DeVall, Dakota DeVall, John Michael DeVall, Coty DeVall, Brittany DeVall, and Katelyn DeVall; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; 11 sisters; and one son-in-law, William Curry.
