MARBLE FALLS, Texas | Helen O. Barker, 99, of Marble Falls passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at Granite Mesa Care Center in Marble Falls.

There will be a private family celebration of Helen's life at a future date. She will be buried in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City.

Helen was born on May 13, 1916, to Samuel and Isabelle (Paradee) Henry in Vermillion, S.D. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1934.

She married Alvie L. Barker on Jan. 3, 1939, in Los Angeles, Calif. Alvie died on Aug. 6, 1995.

The Barkers resided in Sioux City for many years. They owned and operated Sioux Ambulance Service and Al's Cabs. Helen and Al also worked for Allied Tours Travel Agency giving many guided tours throughout the states. They retired in Kingsland, Texas, in 1987.

Helen is survived by five nieces, Linda Barnes, Cyndy Oberdier, Jill Droegmiller, Pat Cooper and Maureen Townsend; five nephews, Jim Farrer, David and Scott Henry, John Swanson and Michael Gilbert; and numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; six sisters; two brothers; two nephews; and one niece.
