March 15, 2016SIOUX CITY | Carol L. Jacobson, 76, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at her residence.
Services will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Private family graveside services will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Carol was born on Nov. 3, 1939, in Rapid City, S.D., the daughter of John and Betsy (McClain) Cosgrove. She graduated from Walthill (Neb.) High School.
Carol married John Jacobson in 1961 in South Sioux City. They later divorced. Carol worked in medical records at Mercy Medical Center for 30 plus years, retiring in 2007.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed working in her flower gardens.
Survivors include her sons, Marty and Becky Jacobson, Kirk Jacobson, Michael Jacobson, and Daron and Wendy Jacobson, all of Sioux City; brothers, Pete Cosgrove of Oklahoma, and Mike and Barb Cosgrove of Texas, sisters, Bethene Hoar and Shirley Tuttle, of Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mary Ahlers.
